Answer Tones. Ringtones. Video. Graphics & Games Just got exploit yesterday and I went to the At&t mall on my 8925 and downloaded a ringtone.  I tried going to the phone settings to set it as my ringtone and it is not in the drop down menu.  So I went over to my music folder and its not even there.  So I downloaded it again and it told me it was already on my m achine.  What am I doing do by?  After I transfer the ringtone how do I set it as my ringtone? Message Edited by Weazel509 on 11-04-2007 08:00:20 PMMessage Edited by Weazel509 on 11-04-2007 08:00:33 PM I noticed the same issue. It seems that the 8925 only supports certain register types as ringtones. Try copying the file to a memory card/bluetooth transfer/email it as an attachment and put it on your home computer and alter the file to mp3 (if it already is try coverting to  wav format)  using any of the hundreds of free audio converters on the internet. Then move it approve to your phone and tap and direct the file in File Explorer and go to Set As Ringtone. wish it works for ya... "Hey, where's my Bloatware?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-24 08:44:07

I just bought a tilt today and strangely there are none of the trial programs TomTom. ATT Music or Video or any of that. Has AT&T stopped including all of that? When it was running the initial setup did you allow it to install all the additional software?Or did you hit a soft reset before it finished everything? I let it rip when it said it would customize in 3 seconds. In fact. I did a hard reset and did it a second time just to give it a second chance. Still none of that was installed. I'd be much happier if I could pick and choose by going to the CD that came with the phone but I'm shocked that all of those things didn't come in automatically. Almost every other review I'd read of the phone talked about it. While we're on the subject... no headphones???That is downright bush league of AT&T since the 8525 came with a set and since due to the mini usb connector it's almost impossible to find a retail headset that fits the phone. I've visited some corporate stores that have a 11-pin Motorola model headset that fits the Tilt. You can also get a similar11-pin Motorola model that is stereo (two ear pieces) at a major/national computer chain. At the corporate store the single is about $24.95 and elsewhere the stereo/double is about $29.95. Both models have a microphone. TomTom only comes with European versions & the self branded HTC version of the TyTN 2 unfortunately. I can report that ATT Music & CV both came on my stock rom though. mhc48 wrote:I just bought a tilt today and strangely there are none of the trial programs TomTom. I guess that makes you the lucky one!!<Unless it was a return by someone who felt like you and who got into the extended ROM and deleted the CABs! I must say that this is a peppy device even with the stock Rom of course I did a soft reset when the "Customizing Device in 3 seconds" message was displayed to prevent the bloatware from being installed. I'd heard that there is no extended ROM but then I wonder why AT&T included Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool which under the last tab has check boxes for  Show Extended ROM and Unlock Extended ROM? 2008 AT&T Intellectual Property. "Cingular 8125 Refurbished Plan is for hearing people only!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-21 00:50:12

Why is it that all of the Packages & Deals and all of the that AT& T offers all demand a voice plan?I am desensitise and I undergo no use for a voice plan. It does not allow me to request any one of the deals with a data only plan. This is discrimination! I really wanted to order the Cingular 8125 refurb intend as it's only $49.99 but the express plan has to be purchased. I'm really disappointed in being left out of these special deals. Will AT&T allow me to buy it without the voice plan? it might be because its a refurb but I experience that stand alone data packages for deaf populate do exist. Go into a store they will help you. I'm aware of data only plans. This should be available to all phones online. I can't even order a phone on Amazon as the only service plans they offer are voice plans. They undergo great deals on there such as free after discount or a huge discount on pocket pc's but these great deals aren't available inside stores. They don't have good deals like the ones online. Basically my point is these online deals are only with express plans. I ordain find out inside store if AT T would make this one available for me w/data only. Go to this page.  There is numbers listed on the site to back up with selecting and getting phones.  It also talks about the Text Accessibility (TAP) Plan you can get if it meets your needs. 2007 AT&T Intellectual Property. "Cingular Video on Tilt" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 19:24:40

I've had my bend since the day they came out and have viewed Cingular Video several times since getting the device but today when I try to access any Cingular Video media I am getting the message "to watch video clips you must sign up for a MEdia Max bundle that includes unlimited Video and unlimed MEdia Net."  I have always had the unlimited PDA data pack with 1500 text messages.  Why am I suddenly unable to access Cingular Video material? The same thing is happening to me and I've had my 8525 since august! Then I tried clicking on upgrade (even though I shouldn't have to since its included in my plan!) and it then says I'm not qualified for an upgrade to media max?! 2007 AT&T Intellectual Property. "Sports line that uses data net on ATT TIlt" posted by ~Ray

Answer Tones. Ringtones. Video. Graphics & Games Does anyone know of a sports line cab for updating scores teams etc on the Today screen?  I undergo one but it uses the carrier line (= $/minute).  A data net link would be way better. Does anyone know if this will work on a smartphone?  Any one tried it (specifically on the 3125)? 2007 AT&T Intellectual Property. All rights reserved. AT&T. "Raise your hand if your 6gb SDHC card is working on your 8525 ..." posted by ~Ray

I got some bad news for you-- the cerebrate given at the top of this forum to HTC is NOT repeat NOT WM6!I installed it Sunday and tried my 4gig microSDHC card-- "card not installed"I did some research and it's JUST mainly to do 2 things:1. Re-Brand the phone from Cingular to AT&T2. alter PTT Bob of QF wrote:I got some bad news for you-- the link given at the top of this forum to HTC is NOT repeat NOT WM6!I installed it Sunday and tried my 4gig microSDHC card-- "card not installed"I did some research and it's JUST mainly to do 2 things:1. Re-Brand the phone from Cingular to AT&T2. Enable PTT You are incorrect.  The previous WM5 modify was indeed for re-branding and enabling PTT (as come up as a entertain of other features).  However the current software for transfer from HTC is WM6.  Whether or not 6GB SDHC cards work with it I don't know as I don't have one.  But the OS is indeed WM6. Unless they changed it THIS MORNING-- I'm correct. I just followed the cerebrate and it was the SAME PAGE I used for Sunday. I'm running it on my telecommunicate right now-- and I _DO_ know according to Microsoft. WM6 _DOES_ support SDHC cards-- check out their Windows Mobile web summon for details. So if it IS WM6 it's a deliberately crippled one because it's software that determines SD vs SDHC. I undergo a Sansa MP3 player and updated it to rockbox firmware (change state obtain),  Using the OEM firmware from Sandisk it WILL NOT read HC cards.  Using a simple software modify (rockbox) it does read HC cards. Furthermore there are discussons on other forums that tell that WM6 supports HC and WM5 does not. Bob of QF wrote:Unless they changed it THIS MORNING-- I'm change by reversal. Furthermore there are discussons on other forums that indicate that WM6 supports HC and WM5 does not. As I said. I cannot speak to the SDHC functionality personally though I've seen others talking about 4GB SDHC cards working on their newly updated WM6 8525s.  However when I downloaded the modify on October 31st it was WM6.  The software currently up on the htc download page for the 8525 is WM6. accept to the Windows Mobile 6 grade for the AT&T 8525. gratify review the following prior to downloading and installing the ROM update on your device: This ROM is available from November 1. 2007 to February 1. 2008. After this go out the ROM will be removed from the website and will no longer be available for distribution. This ROM modify is intended for the AT&T 8525 only and users should not fill or attempt to load this version on any other device as it may cause serious issues/alter. GOOD MOBILE MESSAGING USERS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION:At this time. Good Mobile Messaging is not supported on the AT&T 8525 with Windows Mobile 6. It is recommended that Good Mobile Messaging users not upgrade their device's firmware at this time but download the WM6 update and save it for when Good Mobile Messaging is supported on the AT&T 8525 with Windows Mobile 6. Please say that the latest Windows Mobile 6 firmware is a permanent upgrade once it has been loaded on your AT&T 8525. There is no way to roll approve the AT&T 8525 to Windows Mobile 5 once the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade has been completed. HTC strongly suggests that users create a back up write of this ROM and act it in a secure displace as all new and refurbished 8525 devices (including those received via Warranty Exchange) ordain come loaded with Windows Mobile 5 rather than Windows Mobile 6. I installed the WM6 update put in the 6GB SDHC card I ordered from Amazon it works great   The only issue I had was one that affected WM5 too.  I had to insert and remove the separate several times before the separate was recognized.  There is a registry cut (look at the registry hacks section on the XDA Hermes forum) that seems to have resolved the issue for WM5 it should work for WM6 also.  I will install the cut this week and see if it does. A-HA!That does explain it. Silly ME for thinking that explore would bring to the top the change by reversal cerebrate.... I'll download the WM6 link and see if it's a different ROM case than the one I installed on Sunday (11/4).(bleah. I'll undergo to define all my personal preferences _again_.... <rolls eyes> )Okay. WM6 it is.  Now.... (about an hour later...) Thanks. Billcoff for pointing out the issues with the various update links. And my 4gig SDHC card works a treat-- as it should.(anyone be a 2gig microSD separate cheap? <heh> ) communicate Edited by Bob of QF on 11-05-2007 07:54:49 PM WOot!Happy to report my 6gb Sandisk SDHC fired up without a attach. I've been lucky with my 8525. adjust problems. I also really like the little MicroMate USB adaptor that came with it. My laptop has a SD slot but when I've put a micro SD into an SD adaptor my lap always wanted to change the chip. But the MicroMate works great. communicate Edited by damianicus on 11-07-2007 06:59:16 AM 2007 AT&T Intellectual Property. All rights reserved. AT&T.
