Purists will still be to use ZSnexBox. Compatibility is better in ZSnesBox as well because it's based off of ZSNES and this is based off of Snes9X v1.43. There is no lightgun support no walk give and rewind support is flaky. All the otherfeatures like deliver states cheat code searching etc etc are working. The sources to everything are now up on xbins under emulators/xport_src_new along with a readme file for (brief) instructions on how to compile. I can't give instructions on how to make XBox programs in command (that's left as an exercise for the reader) but I can affirm you that I've tested these packages to make sure they compile correctly under MSVC with the XDK installed. It's all the source - every last bit. My involvement in the XBox era is winding down. I anticipate it already has been winding down for a while. There will probably be a handful of updates in the future and perhaps a new project or two but it's possible that this is it for me. I wish others will pick up these projects and alter them. There's comfort a lot that can be tweaked/improved. There's a very good chance that incorporating the new DOSBox core out ordain result in a usable Dynamic CPU which would give it a very nice go boost. Mednafen core out might be worth updating but note that as of v0.8 PCE CD emulation is supposed to be much more taxing on the CPU. However it might be worth it to strip out the Wonderswan core into a displace project since that's supposed to be a better/tweaked version of oswan (which is the core of WonderswanX). It might make more sense to sight the changes in the oswan portion of Mednafenx and implement them into WonderswanX though. There is also a PCFX core out (probably too taxing for the XBox) and a NGPC core (but the ngpc core is based on neopop and I don't think much has changed in it - don't know if the emulation is improved at all.)Atari7800 obtain is basically a stripped down MESS but all the MESS source files are included in the package. One should be able to copy the atari7800x obtain package into another dir and adjust the project settings to do away with A7800 files and include another machine's files to alter a new port of something else in MESS. NeoGenesis could be patched to accept for ]32MBit games - but this is surprisingly more work than one might expect because of the memory constraints of the XBox. It could be done more easily using virtual memory but then command emulation performance would experience. It's doable without VM but requires more time than I feel like giving - especially because it's only useful for one or two games. Many other projects could use core updates like BlissX. BlueMSXBox etc to improve compatibility. Then of course there could be all sorts of new projects using my core as a base. Potential projects include BBC. Bally Astrocade. Vectrex. Coco. Arcadia and Sam Coupe which all undergo decent open source emulators available for them. They've been on my todo list for quite a while but I just haven't found the measure for them. I recently received a sample of aggroup Cyclops solution for the Nintendo DS and DS Lite. It's called the CycloDS Evolution. This is a slot1 device that has everything that is needed to play roms and homebrew built into it. It change surface has a lay on the divide itself for it's operating system. Since I reviewed an R4 DS before. I'll compare the CycloDS to the R4. The R4 does not undergo any space on the divide itself for the operating system instead you had to upload the software to your micro sd separate. This is an improvement over the R4 as this allows you a little extra lay on your micro sd card. The packaging is also much more impressive. It comes in a metal container like in the photo below. Inside the attractively designed container you'll find that it's foam filled to defend its contents. You'll also find the CycloDS and a USB device to connect your micro SD separate to your computer so that you can upload your roms emulators and homebrew. The CycloDS looks just like a regular DS bet cartridge. Much like the R4 DS and the M3 Simply. A lot of people have had trouble with their R4's and M3's where the micro SD card plugs into the device. They slide in until they move and are removed by pushing in the sd card and it pops back out. Seems the little spring that pushes the card approve out gets weak and doesn't want to eject the card. The CycloDS simply slides in and pulls out to get around this. Putting the CycloDS to use is pretty straight forward. First you be to format your micro SD separate. The cycloDS desire the R4 and M3 give fat 16 and fat 32. But unlike the R4 and M3 the CycloDS supports MicroSDHC which ordain allow for micro SD cards over 4 GB in coat. The R4 and M3 only support up to 4 GB cards. Once your separate is formatted it's time to get some roms. The CycloDS Evolution supports all clean ROMS and no patching is required. Once you undergo your roms transfer them to your SD separate. Also grab any firmware updates from the cyclopsds com website and transfer the extracted file to the root of your SD card. Current version is 1.13 at the time of this writing. You might also want to get Moonshell for the CycloDS while your at the site too. Especially if you want to play mp3's and such. Once you get everything transferred put the SD separate into the cycloDS make sure to insert the separate according to the diagram on the cycloDS then attach the cycloDS into your Nintendo DS and cater it on. When you power on your DS you'll have to tap the screen to get past the health warning to get to the main menu and CycloDS will show up as a DS game on the menu. Tap where it says CycloDS Evolution to load the operating system. If you put an modify on the sd card it will begin the update alter sure not to move off your DS and that you have plenty of battery power before starting it up if you undergo an update on the separate. Once your modify is done it will ask you to cater off the DS go ahead and do so and reboot and restart the CycloDS Evolution operating system. Once you do it should come up to the main menu. You'll sight three icons on the touch screen. The one on the left ordain act you to a menu of your roms and files that are on the SD separate. The icon in the middle will load moonshell if you put it on your sd card. The icon on the right will load the settings/MSC menu. This menu can be used to enable or disable such things as Enhanced Mode. Cheat Codes. LCD brightness. Language booting from slot 2 etc. Enhanced Mode is a wonderful thing. This turns on an in bet menu. To access it from inside your game press L+R+A+B+X+Y. You'll be presented with a menu that gives you choices such as go to menu. Adjust Brightness. furnish Slow Motion and go to game. It's a great set of features thats available while in game.. After tapping the left icon you can see the ROMS/files list. All you have to do to start a bet is to tap on the bet that you be and away you go. The CycloDS Evolution has a built in cheat code engine that is compatible with action reproduce codes. When you start a bet if there are chat codes available in the database for that game you'll be given the cheat code menu so you can decide yes or no and then either select your cheat code or kick straight into the game. There is also an autoboot feature. When your at the menu and you want to compete the last bet that was played just touch the L button and it will load it. Team Cyclops also claims to have transfer and play working very well. I will be testing this feature out a lot! * Completely close & play - no FlashMe. Every measure the DS starts you have the health warning screen comes up. I have to admit that seeing the actual DS menu is OK because I had neglected to set the time properly on my DS since daylight savings had kicked in. The cycloDS is a nice piece of hardware. Performed very well. It costs a little more than it's competitors but I think its worth the extra 10 bucks to get something that ordain allow for more than 4 GB. You can get one from for around $55 bucks. Getting something with around 8 GB of lay would accept someone to carry a end library of games without ever having to dress the micro SD separate for another one. The device is made of good quality material and seems to be very durable. It's very easy to install couldn't get much easier just put it in the DS and that's that. It's only available in white. I desire makers of these devices would cognise that some people have different colored DS's and like having the option of matching their devices up in alter.
