"Square Enix talks Final Fantasy XI on PS2 & Xbox 360" posted by ~Ray

Final Fantasy XI has become somewhat legendary in that it was Square Enix’s first and remains its only. Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. Following its initial inception on PC in 2002/2003 it has since moved onto the PlayStation 2 and most recently. Xbox 360 accruing an impressive half a million subscribers from all around the world. In light of the fourth expansion pack. Wings of the Goddess the company spoke out on the game and on future plans. To celebrate the bet’s eagerly awaited expansion pack. form Enix held a special event called the ‘Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival 2007′ over at the Anaheim Hilton in Southern California. Present was Industry website Gamasutra who Square Enix’s Vice President. Hiromichi Tanaka (who also acted as the Producer on the Final Fantasy XI communicate). Sage Sundi (Global Online Producer) plus other members from the bet’s development aggroup to communicate about the game and plans for the future. The full list of those also present includes Kouichi Ogawa (Director of Wings of the Goddess and Treasures of Aht Urhgan). Akihiko Matsui (Battle Director of FFXI). Mitsutoshi Gondai (Planner of FFXI) and Kenichi Iwao (Planner of FFXI). Since the game’s fifth anniversary is on the horizon clearly the team is in high spirits but Hiromichi Tanaka states that actual development of the game began about eight years ago so obviously it is quite an achievement especially given the team only considered it might last five years on from that inform in measure! In terms of Final Fantasy XI’s popularity around the world the strongest territory by far is lacquer with half of the 500,000 subscribers being from that region whilst the remainder are a combination of the American and European territories. Sadly for form Enix the Xbox 360 has still failed to make much progress in Japan meaning that change surface though last year’s arrival of the game on Microsoft’s format was significant. “not many populate have the actual hardware to play it” in lacquer. However the company IS pleased with how a lot of the users in Europe and America are using the 360 edition. With the PlayStation 2 gradually slowing down in lacquer as Wii and Nintendo DS take over. Sage Sundi notes that whilst “At the release there were a lot more using the PS2 in lacquer…recently the trend has been that most players are moving to the PC versions.” Tanaka-san interjects to add that in North America there is also.

"Final Fantasy VIII" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 13:57:48

The story in this game is also quite convoluted and confusing and I know I’m going to misremember and interpret some of it but here’s what I can recall: You go away out with Squall who’s a pointlessly rebellious guy in a military academy. He’s eventually sent along with some of his classmates on a mission to assassinate the ’sorceress’. The Sorceress is the latest in a line of sorceresses that have ill-defined magical powers and pass them drink to some random girl every generation. The ragtag assort of populate it happens are all orphans that grew up together at an orphanage run by what would change state the current sorceress (and whose husband is headmaster of one of the military academies) but they don’t remember any of this because they have amnesia. Amnesia brought on by using powerful summoned creatures known as Guardian Forces. So the assassination act fails and two things come about: Squall’s new girlfriend becomes the new sorceress and a sorceress at some point in the future decides to do something called ‘time compression’ that makes all moments in time happen simultaneously. Oh and there’s a align plot involving some guy whose daughter has the ability to send minds approve in measure to experience things and things you do while in the past will affect the future. games. You run around fighting bizarre monsters while working your way to the next plan point. Where it differs is in how it handles stats. Role Playing games are all about stats. Your stats determine your worth. Health Points dictate how much alter you can take before you die. Strength determines how hard you can hit and so on. Typically in a bet you also undergo Magic Points. Each spell you undergo costs a certain amount of points to direct and these go out of your pool. In this bet the developers have dispensed with this system in favor of the junction system. To gain magic spells in this bet you have to ‘draw’ them out of your enemies or from random points throughout the world. You then connect to your various stats for boosts. You are then immediately faced with a conundrum. The magic spells are typically some of your best attack and give avenues and if you use the ones you have you decrease your stats. And an RPG character with sub-par stats is a pretty maim engrave. The other problem has to do with the Guardian compel creatures. You use these creatures for extremely powerful attacks but the attacks take a long measure to play out. I fully understand that every time you do the attack that it always plays out to do the damage but I would undergo loved the ability to skip them especially when I got the longer ones. Sure they be cool the first bring together dozen times you see them but after seeing the same Guardian Force do the same minute-plus attack a hundred or more times you just depart using them opting for the slower but much more interactive mundane battle. I’m the only person that I know that has actually finished this game but I never felt compelled to play through it a second measure. Or to end any of the optional sidequests to fully understand the story. In fact toward the end the it began to feel more desire a chore than a game.

I undergo Windows Vista (this is the PC version of the bet) and when i double clicked on the installed game it said my system didnt support the software. I looked up the game online and open that i had to install wondows vista compatability software before i could install the game disk. So i did this and was able to get onto PlayOnline just fine. I registered on Playonline and went through all the steps except now when i try and install the game istself it says its already installed and when i try to click on it in Playonline it says its not installed. Whew! lol If anyone knows whats going on please tell me whats happening as soon as possible i would love to get to play this game as soon as i can. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Its Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel collection 2007 PlayOnline. (The game and PlayOnline software). Hello Lightangel79,undergo you tried checking your add/remove programs enumerate to see if it listed as installed? (go away button -> hold back panel -> uninstall a schedule) If it is there or in your start menu try uninstalling it. If it says something desire this program isn't here would you like to remove the uninstall enumerate entry? Click yes if that comes up. Then try reinstalling it. If that doesn't bring home the bacon try uninstalling both the game and playonline then reboot your computer then run ccleaner (move my cerebrate to transfer it's remove). When you run ccleaner alter sure you run the junk register cleaner and also move the issues add and run the registry cleaner. You can also try running registry mechanic. It costs $$$ but it is a much more thorough registry cleaner and is a great program to keep around and use with ccleaner to keep your computer in good health. When you're done cleaning out junk try starting the whole install process over again. wish that helps! Dont worry about this thread i returned the game because it wasnt windows Vista compatable. "Differences between the PC and the PS1 versions of Final Fantasy 7" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 18:27:22

The PC version has a maximum resolution of 640x480 (1280x960 with a patch)The psx version has a maximum resolution of 320x240The PC Version can use ansiotropic filtering and Anti-ailiasingThe PSX version suffers from a lack of perspective correction which makes the textures 'jiggle' (change surface when played through an emulator)The PSX version has better soundThe FMV's are of a exceed quality in the PSX version Or if you own a PSX you'll get the beat possible playing expericence. Also with the PC edition it would randomly work on some of my PC's (I have 7) but not others. Is the content "censored" in the PSX version ? In the PC version I undergo. Barrett says a lot of &#$#@'s.. are these just for comic relief or actual censorships ? Is the circumscribe "censored" in the PSX version ? In the PC version I undergo. Barrett says a lot of &#$#@'s.. are these just for comic relief or actual censorships ? There's not much difference between PC and PSX versions but thanks to the PC modding community you can play FF7 at much higher settings and have exceed graphics than many PS2 games. Here's some shots from modded PC FF7: Notice the higher resolution and the Anti-aliasing helping much the 3d models and the battlegrounds. And see the new main engrave models which are great. Now analyse it to the PSX version: No they don't actually those pictures are change surface higher resolution than the original. It never was a good looking bet when you look at the engrave objects backgrounds were quite nice for the measure but change surface there is some inform sampled textures and other strange things. The PSX version suffers from a lack of perspective correction which makes the textures 'jiggle' (even when played through an emulator) Actually the agitate comes from the lack of sub-pixel accuracy of the vertex transforms and rasterizing. This is the reason why the emulator comfort has a 320x240 grid in which vertex must reside on emulators. With ps2 they added 4bit sub-pixel accuracy and it fixed most of the problem. (each pixel had sub 16x16 grid for the vertex)Lack of perspective correction made the stretching effect we see when looking large moving diagonal polygon. In most non-perspective correct polygon rasterizers there is also a horizontal lie from mid-vertex which is visible becouse of different perspective calculation for both sides of the polygon. (top and bottom)The lie is there becouse polygon is usually divided to 2 parts to alter the inner loop of triangle rendering to be a quite a bit nicer. In edges of the screen in many games we see stretching and incorrect vertex colors this is becouse of clipping polygons to view frustrum. Proper way is by tesselating polygons that go over the screen borders and making new edge polygons. Color changes and strange shape errors change state reality when one doesn't calculate correct values for the new vertexes. Culling can also be made within pixel rasterizing by rejecting outisde pixels which is quite horrible way with all those different pixel filling routines for each special inspect. Umm. sorry got carried a way a bit.. It appears that indeed the PS version is uncensored. I undergo already the PC version since a long measure and i got the PS version today playing it on my PS2. In it barret says words like s=== b=== d=== godd=== all of which are written as $#$@#@ in the PC version. PC version has better graphics faster graphics smoother written fonts. I am playing FF7 on my PS2 and the fonts are much smaller than this pic and act much less screen space. It's kind of annoying to construe. Battle animations have "slowdowns" . not slowdowns per se. but the movement isnt as smooth as the PC version. i sped up the contend speed to alter it more manageable. I wanna reproduce FF7. but im hesitant between playing the PS version (pros : barret's curses/ cons : everything else) .. or the PC modded version with the battle characters on check. I think I'll settle with the PS version since that's how the bet was supposed to be played in the first place. If you still have a PSX I'd go with that for the classic conclude but if you don't go with the PC version. The updated graphics/resolution would be a big bonus I evaluate. *$%*$ ! Why the #*$#$ did they criminalise the %#$###$ PC version ! I mean for #$#!%'s sake... They're ruining a move of the ^$@#$$% undergo ! $#@% ! Think i'd like the PS1 version because it just feels better. I'll have to try it on my 42" i had a 21" when i first played it. Shouldn't your username be "Spawn of Cthulhu"? Are you a H. P. Lovecraft fan? Think i'd like the PS1 version because it just feels better. I'll undergo to try it on my 42" i had a 21" when i first played it. Shouldn't your username be "cause of Cthulhu"? Are you a H. P. Lovecraft fan? Well. I've had this nickname since I was desire 14 (on other message boards etc.) and I like it. I experience that it's kind of misspelled (though the evince has many alternate spellings but the "canonical" spelling is cthullhu) but !@#$. I ain't changing it I am not a Lovecraft reader per se but I am fond of the concept of Cthullu symbolism etc. About FF7. It should run exceed on the PS1 than the PS2 because it's being emulated on the PS2 after all. And the fonts are being a pain the the #$%^ to read especially on 14'' in my bedroom. If i had a PSX it'd have been a no-brainer to compete it on the console but between PS2 and PC i anticipate I'll play the PC version. But I won't undergo that choice when playing Xenogears (which im planning to get soon). The gods don't want me to compete FF7. Apparently the PC version is incompatible with my graphics card.. though it used to work fine on my older PC. I'll just undergo to wait for the friggin' create. or get a PSX to play it and play FF8. FF9 and Xenogears.
