Today I started getting an error message on my desktop that reads "Unexpected message type from Application (PCToolsFirewallPlus). Message type {Error}. Does anyone know what this means and what I need to do to correct this problem? What version of the Firewall have you installed? Could you provide a screenshot of the errror message? Please send us the file FirewallWrapper txt that is in the firewall installation directory (normally C:\Program Files\PC Tools Firewall Plus) we might find an error report there that will help us to understand the problem Yo what the hell is this file for?? here are some screenshots it does this alot but the usual file is the settings ini for the start up parameters not this one iv never seen this one befor should i be concerned? wat is its purpose? The file FWAA holds all the white listed applications (applications that are considered safe by PC Tools). This file is signed the signature file is FWAA sig if this register is tampered by users FW will sight that (signature verification will fail) and consider this as a security alert and this is what you see. It could also be a BUG in the FW. Any way all it means is that firewall will not consider any application as safe and all application events will be popped up to user (same as if you have disabled the option in Settings->General ‘Automatically allow known applications’). To solve this please shut down the FW and then copy the attached files FWAA and FWAA sig to the firewall installation directory and lets us know if the problem persist. Plus it would help to know which version of firewall you use is it also 2.0.0.52?

Hello i undergo had to uninstall PCTools firewall because i was unable to block some IP addresse's by range/hit so i'm just checking now to see if PCTools aggroup has included the IP Blocking Option/Feature in the latest version of PCTools firewall???? To do this go to Advanced Rules-> Create Rule-> Ethernet Type IP-> Remote communicate is XXX.

I undergo an older HP Pavilion that is giving me an "eror loading OS" message. I am unable to get to the safmode and this computer has the restore programs on the hard control no separate CDs. Any suggstions? Good judgement comes from undergo and undergo comes from bad judgement. Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a identify when you make it again. I checked out the HP site and found what they call the "destructive restore" method which I would like to avoid avoid since there are files I would like to get into again. However this method also assumes I can get to Safe Mode which I can't do. Thanks for your reply.

One user in my forum complained that TF was blocking his Panda antivirus update. TF just blocked the modify when it was installed. No alerts on Panda. It would not be of any use to link to the go since it is in danish language. Did they get an alert from TF? I ordain try TF with Panda to see if I see the same behavior. Were they using Vista or XP ? Sorry. Xp domiciliate and Panda Antivirus + Firewall 2007. No alerts from TF but alerts from Panda about TF and errors from Windows. Ok. I have 2008. I ordain see if we have 2007. The version I am using is the Internet security suite. And I don't undergo any problems so far. What errors from Windows? I dont know about the Windows errors. Just some errorreports send to MS blabla. But here`s the Panda error It says "Generic error". He tried to uninstall and reinstall. Same problem. Tried 2007 now and no issues. If I understand he is getting a problem with his proxy server? Is that change by reversal? He does`nt use a proxyserver. It is just a reminder to adjust the settings if he did use one. I´ll try to alter him lay the new version of TF to see if the problems has gone. I`ll be approve Thanks analyse. I have the same version as he is using with the 3.0.7 version and I don't have any problems. I will try the earlier version of TF.

I am using Windows XP Media Center and Threatfire Beta 3.07.0. After upgrading from TF Beta 3.04. I now get periodic notices that I need to resuscitate so that drivers may be updated. I undergo rebooted a couple of times now and I am still getting this same sight from TF 3.07. A problem? It's going to change state a nuisance if rebooting isn't actually accomplishing anything useful rivi I am looking into this. Although I have not seen this behavior before. Which prompts me to ask if this kind of thing can be going on... I was reading a day or so ago about MS performing updates on users' computers WITHOUT notifying them. This caught my eye because I had noticed in the past week that the yellow/orange "sheild" associated with updating had begun to be in the move of the taskbar that shows icons for what I used to label TSR programs -- the ones that run in the accent. So. I'd put my cursor over the sheild expecting it to give me a progress inform on updates to Windows something like "15 percent end" or whatever similar thing it often says. In this past week however each measure I displace the cursor over the sheild it would say "0 percent" and later it would cease. It puzzled me. Then I read about Microsoft doing these updates without ever notifying me. And about the same measure. Threatfire began to notify me that I needed to reboot so that updated program drivers could be current. In other words maybe TF isn't causing this problem at all. Maybe it's just detecting Microsoft's unnanounced updates and then tells me to resuscitate when they're finished even though Microsoft isn't making that request. Hello:I undergo been fighting a problem for quite some measure where the ProxyEnable and Proxy settings keep coming approve after I clear them from the Registry. Under HKEY_USERS\. DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Internet SettingsThe ProxyEnable gets set to "1" the ProxyOverride is set to settings from a previous version of Cisco VPN Client that I once had and ProxyServer as well. I undergo uninstalled Cisco a few years approve but specifically when I try to modify ZoneAlarm Spyware & AntiVirus these settings go back even though they are nowhere in ZoneAlarm that I can find. Anyone undergo any ideas?ThanksJB
