I agree it would be nice. However it's not a feature that would be added for 8.4.
I'd like to create a new product for PocketPC and it's already on the list for the future.
Russ - don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today ! - Come on construe back through all the posts on this forum there is a huge merchandise for PPC type Digiguide - If DigiGuide don't do it - somebody out there ordain - don't be a lame duck - INNOVATE
Oh I don't be to be a lame duck but I'd need a lot more goading to set aside significant resource to develop and support a product for such a tiny market.
I was almost convinced by seeing "initiate" in upper inspect

The "huge market" so far appears to be just you posting on several different threads!
undergo a look also at the Linux and Mac request threads and see how many populate be those!
Then I can act an eye on whats on and get reminded about things while I am not in lie of the PC!
Yes but to use this - you demand an active internet connection.
with a adjust PDA/PPC app you could cache the information in the morning/evening/one day a week and construe it and use it offline!
Heck. I would change surface amaze up a bit more cash if such an app came out! Would be worth it!
Strangely enough I've been playing with PPC development this pass for a personal communicate I maintain.
PPC development has been a pretty horrible experience so far. The only real device I undergo is my old PPC2002 compaq ipaq and I can't get any of the dev tools to hive away for it. I've tried evc3 evc4 embedded tools for vc6 and vs2005 but none be to compile and transfer to it. Still the emulators are useful.
My preference would be for a Symbian version to create an alternative to Sky's mobile application which is exorbitant. I had hoped that myDigiGuide would be that application but it seems far too clunky.
With regard to development for the PPC and change surface Windows mobile try going on the Microsoft website and downloading the beta of Visual Studio 2008 (previously known as "Orcas"). It is much more fully featured than 2005 and includes mobile give within the base system no additional SDKs to transfer and install. It is a big download. 8 CD images as I recall but an improved emulator etc.
Still my telecommunicate is a Symbian 60 copy so I'd really prefer you to go that direction
We get all of the MSDN cram on DVD so it's not a problem trying 2008 beta. However the problem with the new cram is that it doesn't give the older stuff. Great if you only want it to support only Windows Mobile 5 or 6 and above but not so great for everyone else. EVC3/4 are useful for ensuring the stuff works on older devices though.. but getting cram compiled is the smallest part designing the product is the trickiest I think.
Re: symbian. I've never looked at it so I couldn't mouth to create by mental act what it would be like to create for.
Actually it does give the older stuff exceed than previous versions. You undergo the option to say which sub-platform you are developing for and it produces the code relevant to that framework. And the new emulator is a lot faster and more robust (not hard. I experience) than previous. It may not solve your issues but I strongly recommend taking a look.
