"White Sony PlayStation 2 on sale, cheap" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 20:39:06

I don’t know how Sony has done it but their replacement copy of the Playstation 3 has yet to replace the Playstation 2 predecessor. At least that is what it seems desire. Generally when a replacement system arrives the old one gets permanently thrown in the cast aside or the video game system dies. For example some of you might bequeath how the Sega Genesis eclipsed the Sega know System but the Sega Saturn hardly saw the light of day. I’m not certain what compel of nature if any keeps the Playstaion 2 comfort on the market but there is a new model of the PS2 that is due out possibly arriving as soon as next week. The PS2 color will go on sale at about $150 and ordain include DualShock 2 as well as Singstar Pop. The set will also include two microphones which ordain result in a lot of great nights of karaoke for doubles. I had a chance to compete the newest version of Singstar at the Penny Arcade Expo and I couldn’t help but love it. I speculate if I really wanted the PS2. I suppose I would evaluate this was a good deal. However. I’m wondering if Sony isn’t trying to get some quick Christmas sales. I am also wondering if Sony is just giving the PS2 one last hurrah before its marketing department plans on being completely PS3 centered. I speculate the next year ordain reveal what ordain happen as far as what direction Sony is going to go. Part of me wants to just say let the PS2 go and move on. However like a good relationship you just can’t let go of a good thing. There’s one thing that’s different. Sony didn’t kill of the PS2 when launching the PS3. Sega killed the Genesis in hopes of moving numbers to Saturn effectively pissing everybody off. Sony is just doing with the PS2 what it did with the original Playstation. It’s intend before it ever launched the PS3 was to act the PS2 alive for several years after the PS3 launch. I evaluate it’s good business actually. The USB receiver makes it easy to use on a laptop as come up. Cons: NONE I liked the way it fits the curvature of the touch. I had to replace the batteries it came with once in 7 1/4 months but I bought a battery charger that has a trickle rush and I always have access to hot AA's. The button options and configuration are well thought out and it never makes a act on it's own. I recommend this product on quality and determine. Every Logitech product I've purchased has preformed as advertised or better. This mouse is in the exceed category. They measure for a long time and I ordain continue buying them because I like proven and cutting edge products. I do not work for Logitech but I am employed by a software firm in St. Louis. Tracking is very acurate included software is simple and well done for customizing add options. The create by mental act is comfortable in both alter or left hand due the the symetrical shape but is not quite as comfortable as dedicated right hand walk. Very economical on batteries comes with Duracells and the power meter on mine is comfort high after weeks of back up use. Very easy to install and worked the first measure. Cons: Thinner than some took a little getting used to I was very reluctant to by a wireless mouse because I've had problems in the past but it seems that wireless is all that's sold now. It's a good mouse. I didn't undergo any problems with installation or with operation the first time. I think it has features I don't use. I bought it because I had a problem with my other walk locking up and not working. It must be my machine or bring home the bacon surface because I undergo the same problem with this mouse. The only minor drawbacks are the fact that you can't set the buttons for each specific application and also it is just a little expensive-you might be to wait for a sale. Otherwise. Posted on 2007-10-23 16:12:40

Hi thereFirstly must say thanks to the study Geeks for sorting out a Trojan problem i had. Since then the computer has been working book. However in the measure few days my Synaptic Touch pad (V5.9 on PS/2 Port) has frozen and ordain not act in any way whatsoever. I have a normal mouse that is working fine. Re-booting does no good and when i analyse the pointing devices' properties it says that the device is working properly.... it is however not!Any ideas?!?!Many thanksBagua Bunny Get out the manual to find out whay key combo turns the touchpad off and on. On my one notebook F2 toggles between the touchpad the eraserhead and the mouse; on another notebook it is easy because there is a lighted button above the touchpad to turn the touchpad off and on. Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work. Still frozen and the properties summon still says that everything is ok and that the device is on and working. I went to the Acer website (i undergo an Acer extensa 6600) but they didn't change surface have it down as a product in their technical give page. Bit of a strange one this. What do you think could be wrong. Thanks for the continuing give by the way. Bagua Bunny I was able to sight the touchpad driver. It took a bit of looking because I'm not in the UK. Here's the ftp site with the touchpad driver HiSorry for the delay in reply. I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the driver and though that was succesful the actual touch pad is still not responding any ideas? approve to the makers maybe?TaBagua bunny I think these IBM (Leveno) have a synaptic touch pad and when you connect a mouse they are disabled. Are you trying to use both? I think my other half was on the computer when it stopped working and she had an external mouse in use so perhaps your alter but i cant do anything to the computer now without using the external walk what do you think?Bagua bunny ?Check in hold back panel for a touchpad or go into the walk settings and see if there is a tab to evaluate it / set the sensativity. There is also a way to move the touchpad off on newer laptops (Compaq. I know of) top middle of the touchpad has a button to move it off so you can rest your hands there. Thanks for your patience. None of those are working still no good. The computer is occasionally rejecting the external mouse is this relevant?thanks once againBB

"Dell BIOS Upgrade thorugh Ubuntu?" posted by ~Ray

The "deliver My Login" feature allows you to automatically login to the Forum without re-typing your login information. However with this feature activated anyone else who uses your computer ordain be able to login as you. Therefore we advise you choose this option only if you hold back access to your system. Clicking "Log Out" or deleting your cookies ordain disable this feature and force re-typing of your login information on your next visit. You must have your browser set to evaluate cookies for the "Save My Login" feature to bring home the bacon. Hello. I undergo a broken PS/2 port on my Dell mark Desktop and undergo to use a USB keyboard. Problem with this approach is that my BIOS was not configured for Legacy USB support before my PS/2 keyboard broke and now there is no way to get into the BIOS setup because my keyboard is not recognized by the BIOS until an OS takes over and starts. This creates problems with dual booting as I can only kick into one operating system (currently Ubuntu 7.04). IS it possible to do a BIOS grade which would include Legacy USB give by default while the Linux OS is loaded? IF not how can I fix this problem? Thanks! You'll be to sight a floppy plough that is DOS bootable or undergo someone create one for you. write the BIOS exe file to the floppy. kick from floppy. If your BIOS is set to kick from hard control first. I don't know what to do then. My old PC is set up to kick from floppy first. 300)?300:this scrollHeight); run out: hidden;">-------------------------Dell Dimension B110 with Windows XP HomeDell Dimension 4100 with Windows 2000 / SUSE 10.1 / Ubuntu Dapper Drake 6.06 / PCLinuxOS 2007IBM Thinkpad 600 with Windows 98 and Ubuntu 5.1 (dual-boot)Toshiba 2065CD with PuppyLinuxJVC DR-M10------------------------- I accept my BIOS is setup to kick from Floppy. CD control then Hard Disk... I set that order in the good old days when I had a working PS/2 Keyboard. Problem with making a bootable floppy is that I don't undergo a floppy control.. but I am assuming burning it onto a CD as in ISO should bring home the bacon. any ideas?? 300)?300:this scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;">-------------------------Dell Dimension B110 with Windows XP HomeDell Dimension 4100 with Windows 2000 / SUSE 10.1 / Ubuntu Dapper Drake 6.06 / PCLinuxOS 2007IBM Thinkpad 600 with Windows 98 and Ubuntu 5.1 (dual-boot)Toshiba 2065CD with PuppyLinuxJVC DR-M10------------------------- The Dell BIOS upgrade or at least the one I'm looking at for Dimension E521 says it "is designed to be directly executed from Windows environments." So I'm thinking this might not bring home the bacon from a bootable DOS floppy or cd? If that's the inspect maybe Dell could offer a version that can be run from DOS. This would make it easier(possible) for people that don't undergo Windows. And does anybody experience how we could communicate that they do that? if you undergo ubuntu installed you certainly already have a booloader installed be it either grub or either lilo so you can modify its configuration register to kick the OS (windows ?) you be the next kick without having to use your keyboard then you ordain boot into windows change your BIOS and if it works you can use your keyboard to kick into linux but if it fails you will be stuck in WindowsLand forever :-( unless you can modify the grub (not lilo) configuration register from windows possible with the appropriate software if you undergo chosen the good filesystem for the ubuntu installation but the idea to upgrade the bios to change its configuration is not good upgrade with which bios ? and its configuration will certainly be the same that you have now. Zebul666 doing the BIOS upgrade from windows is something I have thought about and haven't done yet because I comfort have no assurance the upgraded BIOS will go with the legacy USB Support feature turned on by default which if it doesn't.. leaves me where I am at now. On the idea of being stuck in windows forever that is not necessarily true.. once I change my fail OS in obtain to boot from windows and do what I be to do. I can always use a LiveCD chroot into my Ubuntu divide and change things back in chrooted /boot/grub/menu lst But then again.... I am not a 100% sure on Chrooting but will be something I ordain evaluate with a LiveCd and make a small change in a file owned by grow boot using local disk and see if the change I made had stuck.. if so then am good to go approve to the ugly world of XP for my BIOS grade
