Shoplifters face felony charges

Five people from Syracuse approach felony charges after New Hartford guard open more than $5,000 in stolen merchandise in their vehicle during a merchandise stop Sunday in New Hartford.
New Hartford guard responded to a call of a shoplifting in develop at the Old Navy store on Commercial Drive. Investigators said several guard units arrived as the suspect vehicle was leaving the store's parking lot.
Officer D. G. Herman pulled the car over and found bags of merchandise from a number of stores at Sangertown Mall in New Hartford and Carousel bear on in Syracuse inside the vehicle.
Charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property a Class C felony were: David L. Williams. 19; Brittney L. Huddleston. 18; Ella F. Costner. 18; and Marquesha D. Sanders. 19. The five were also charged with criminal possession of an anti-security item a Class B misdemeanor.
guard said they also found that Huddleston was wanted by Solvay police on other charges.
The suspects were arraigned in town of New Hartford act and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility without free.
